Performance artist and writer Philip Barnes', research revolves around the theme of Urban Tourism. Philip Barnes is part of the 54°N and Illegal Media collectives. Most recently he has been artist in residence at ArToll Labor, Bedburg-Hau, Germany.

Philip Barnes is also undertaking a PhD with the Independent Art School*.
