Sensei Roger Carpenter (7^th Dan)

Chief Instructor and Chairman of SKKIF, Roger Carpenter (7^th Dan) began Wado  Ryu Karate in North London (under Sensei Bob Wignall) in 1964.  He started training in Shotokan Karate in 1968 and attained Shodan from Shihan Hirokazu Kanazawa in 1973.

Sensei Carpenter was awarded his 6^th Dan (Rokudan) by Shihan Kanazawa at his 30^th Anniversary party back in 1999 and his 7^th Dan after grading at the Autumn course in Lilleshaw in 2007. Sensei Carpenter also visits Matsuba Kai at least twice a year to conduct courses and gradings.
