Clinics

Clinics generally consist of ridden flexion exercises, correct rider position etc., but specialist Clinics covering the popular Western competitive classes i.e. Trail, Showmanship (in-hand showing) and Horsemanship - where set patterns are practised, are also held. The general theme of the Clinics is to bring like-minded Western riders together for them and their horses to gain experience working in group situations.

A nominal spectator fee is normally charged for Clinics, but participants may bring one guest with them free of charge. Clinics are very popular and early booking is advisable to avoid disappointment.

General Clinic with Catherine Wright
    Sunday 20th April, 11am - 4pm  
Cost: £38 per horse/rider, to include tea/coffee. Spectators £2.

A general clinic, group work plus individual time working on problems.

Walk & Jog Clinic with Catherine Wright
    Sunday 4th May 11am - 3pm
Cost per Clinic: £34 per horse/rider, to include tea/coffee. Spectators £2.

Ideal for those who don't like to lope, or to acclimatise inexperienced/young horses to Clinics.

Practice Show Clinic with Catherine Wright
    Sunday 18th May, 11.00am - 4.30pm  
Cost: £40 per horse/rider, to include tea/coffee. Spectators £2.

"Practice Show" Clinic - Practising all the popular Western classes, including Pleasure, Showmanship, Horsemanship and Trail. Demonstration of horse mane banding for showing, discussions on correct attire and show ring etiquette. Experience the classes without the pressure of being judged! Great for those new to showing or to give young horses showring experience. Also ideal for schooling seasoned show horses.

Trail Clinic with Catherine Wright
Sunday 29th June, 11am - 4pm
Cost per Clinic: £38 per horse/rider, to include tea/coffee. Spectators £2.

Ridden warm up, then practising a variety of Trail obstacles. Individually ride 3 different Trail courses, the third of which will be fairly challenging.
Horse/riders should already be able to negotiate a gate and bridge prior to the Clinic.

Horsemanship clinic with Catherine Wright
Sunday 27th July, 11am - 4pm
Cost: £38 per horse/rider, to include tea/coffee. Spectators £2.

Improve your Horsemanship class. General warm up then work on rider & horse position, rail work, plus individually ride patterns.
A must for those wishing to improve their Horsemanship class results.

Showmanship Clinic (with ridden warm-up) with Catherine Wright
Sunday 17th August, 1pm - 4.30pm
Cost: £28 per horse/rider, to include afternoon tea. Spectators £2.

Ridden warm-up from 1pm-2pm, then work on Showmanship positioning for you & the horse. Learn what the judge is looking for & how to achieve it!
Practice a variety of Showmanship patterns.
Finish with Afternoon tea whilst watching a Showmanship video.

Facilities at The WW include: 60m x 25m menage, overnight stabling at £16 night, day use stabling at £6.00 per day (prices include bedding & mucking out), excellent local B&B accomodation.
