Unicycling in Warwick 5th Sept 2010 Yes, we are Unicycling around the streets of Warwick again !!! On Sunday 5th September 2010 Warwick County Council in association with Action 21 are holding their annual cycle event with the professional cyclists doing a 40k bicycle race around a 1k town centre circuit. For a fifth year it has been decided to include Unicycling as part of the programme. The intention on the day is to again have two separate Unicycle races. The first race is for all types and sizes of Unicycles (less than 30 inch wheel), hopefully to include "Giraffe" and "Kangaroo", as well as any unusual "one wheel above the other" or "offset" Giraffes. This race starts at 12:35pm and will have prizes for Adults and Juniors. Entry fee is £5 for the "fun" race which will be just 2 laps (max) The second race will be purely for "Large Wheel” Unicycles (30 inches or bigger) this includes 36 inch "Coker" style Unicycles, and geared Unicycles are allowed. The start time for this race is 3:40pm and there will be prizes for first, second and third male and female in each race. Entry fee is £10 for the "Big Wheel Race" which will be 10 laps of the 1k course. Please Note: You MUST wear a hard cycle helmet whilst racing, this is a condition of the race insurance. No Helmet, No Race. !!! This is a non-profit venture. All entry fee monies will be used to cover the cost of the race prizes. This is the fourth year that the Warwick Cycling event has included Unicycling. The first 50 Unicyclists to send their entry forms in will receive a goody bag for entering.
