Ainsdale is a small village on the northwest coast of England, close to the seaside town of Southport.  Historic records show that cricket has been played in the village since the year 1881. However the 1st match played at Ainsdale's current ground Liverpool road was not until the year 1911 - the ground being donated to the Cricket Club by the owner at the time of the Railway public house.  Today other sports such as Tennis, Bowls, and Football are also played at the Ainsdale Club.  Ainsdale is a village with a population of approximately 15,000 people; our Club is the only multi-sports club within the village, providing approximately 9 acres of sports fields for use by boys, girls, adults and pensioners.  The Cricket Club is an integral part of the village and the community.  The age range of persons playing sport at the Cricket Club ranges from 8 to 80!

Ainsdale now play their cricket within the Southport and Merseyside Cricket Alliance (formerly known as the Merseyside Competition - which Ainsdale were one of the founder members). Ainsdale have 2 Saturday teams and an occasional Sunday/Evening eleven, their overall membership being approx 35 members. The Ainsdale Cricket Club has great facilities to play cricket at and a fun and friendly atmosphere to go with.
