Where is Orton ? - About 15 miles south of Penrith, 6 miles east of Shap,

11 miles west of Kirkby Stephen.

It is about 90 minutes North of Manchester.Easy access from M6 J38.

How do I get there by Public transport ? - There are train stations at penrith,

Appleby & Kirby Stephen with bus links to Orton.

Or call a local taxi from the station. Perhaps the easist way is via Penrith

then taking the 106/107 which takes 40 minutes to Orton,

then a 5 minute walk to the hall.

Are the prices per person ? -

No the price is for the suite no matter how many people stay (Max 2 + baby + child).

There is an additional folding bed, However we have also accomodated older children on campbeds.

Is there a bar or fitness room? -

No The hall is self catering only not a Hotel.

What is included in the Price? -

No charge is made for Towels or linen (for up to 2 persons).

Electricity is charged at the end of your stay by meter reading at standard rate

All Storage heating used during your stay is included.

Is the whole property available for hire, How many can it sleep ?

The property is not under sole ownership,

some of it is residential and some is for the owners use only.

No group hire is allowed.

Can I bring my Dog ? Until April 2002 dogs were allowed in some of the apartments.

Unfortunately due to the irresponsible behaviour of a few of the owners,

Guests can no longer bring dogs to the hall.
