Reporting footpath problems. Following a request from the secretary I have altered the link to the Leicestershire County Council "home" page to the direct one for reporting footpath problems because it was not easy to navigate to this page directly. If you wish to view other pages on this site click on the "home" page. Elementary Map Reading Course. The Group is organising a one-day course for people who have little or no expertise in reading a map and who like to be able to plan their own walks, and follow the routes using map and compass. The course is to be held on Saturday 28th. March 2009 at Gumley Village Hall. There is a nominal charge of £5 but those attending will need to bring a "Silva" type compass, (or this can be purchased on the day from £10) To apply for a place on this course, please phone Dave Siddons on (0116)2887457 who will be happy to send you full details and an application form. LEICESTER RAMBLERS ANNOUNCEMENT JOIN US ON OUR COACH RAMBLES Leicester Ramblers organise a Sunday monthly coach ramble to scenic walking areas. These trips give you the opportunity to visit and experience walking in faraway areas where you may not normally go. They are also a great social occasion where you can meet people and make new friends. Three graded full day walks are offered of about 9, 11, & 13 miles to suit peoples varying walking abilities. A midday pub stop is included with morning and afternoon rest breaks. An optional evening meal at a pub or restaurant is arranged before the journey home. We have vacant seats on the coaches and we welcome new ramblers from all districts. Non-members of the Ramblers Association and members of the general public are welcome also. Coach pick-up points at present are Coalville and various places in and around Leicester, other pick-up places can be included if needed.
