September 2001

6th month of F&M. We still disinfect, but are just beginning to feel slightly more relaxed, with most cases now `up North.

Wheat came off very well at about 4 tonnes an acre (our last conventional crop, these fields went into conversion in June) and the straw was baled nice and dry.
We started to cut the Broccoli around mid month with a nice weed and disease free crop (beginners luck!), this is being marketed and packed for us by Organic Farm Foods in Lampeter (Wales) for the Supermarkets.

I was glad to get away for a weeks fishing near Fort William in Scotland, we didn't catch much, but it was wonderful to have a change of scenery for a while.
