June

What a difference a year makes! Last year we were reeling from the effects of Foot and Mouth, but, at least we were being paid 30p/litre for our milk. Now, we have had the best month ever for the caravan site, people every where all month (income Up by £500) but the Milk price down to 15p/litre (income DOWN by £15,000 in the month!!!)
Started the month by doing a series of walks for various bodies around the village and round the farm, good fun to do and always something of interest to see. It's a pity more farmers don't do more P.R. work of this nature, it can clear up some of the simplest misunderstandings.

Vegetable planting on all month with Potatoes, Calebrese, Leeks, Carrots and Sweetcorn in production this year. Problems start with Rabbits and continue through Rain, Hares, Rooks, Pigeons, Slugs, Irrigation and finally Weeds. ( Matt x 2, Paul, Tom, Jackie and the gang cheerfully keep on top of all this extremely well, whatever the weather).
