July

We continue to plant the succession of vegetables with the team keeping up the battle with the weeds-on the whole very successfully- the fields are beginning to look a picture.

We got a good crop of hay off in the little bit of good weather we did have, together with the second cut of silage and a bit of whole crop Wheat. The latter then ploughed up and planted with a Red Clover Ley.

One problem appeared in the form of pigeons on the Rye, hundreds of them! Solved by a few days intensive shooting, nearly 200 birds shot.

Carrots begining to take off
