Rally 2008

Stanford Hall in Leicestershire where Shakespeare's Avon flows gently through the grounds was the venue for our 2008 rally on Sunday 6 July. This impressive Hall, which is a fine example of the William and Mary period, has been the home of the Cave family, ancestors of the present owner Nicholas Fothergill, since 1430.

The previous evening several members and wives/partners sat down to an excellent dinner at the Greyhound Coaching Inn & Hotel in the nearby market town of Lutterworth, a short drive from the rally site.

For the second year running the weekend weather forecast was poor. Fortunately when setting up the site on the previous day, the sun shone but Sunday morning dawned wet and windy. Despite this, the turn-out was excellent and by early afternoon the sun came out, the site dried quickly and we were able to enjoy the day.
