
Anya Langmead is a qualified Pilates instructor with a certificate gained at the Pilates International studio in Highgate, London. She is trained in both Pilates matwork and in the use of Pilates equipment and machines. She has a background in Contemporary and Post Modern Dance and has practised (and sometimes taught) Iyengar Yoga for twenty years.These disciplines enrich her teaching methods. She is also a qualified acupuncturist and has a certificate in Counselling.
Pilates for Horse Riders
Anya has been riding horses since the age of five. She specialises in teaching Pilates for horse riders to strengthen, improve and correct the seat.
Pilates Instructor's Manual
Anya is the author and illustrator of an Instructor's Manual containing syllabus notes on the curriculum taught at Pilates International. This is a comprehensive collection of detailed instructions and illustrations covering matwork and equipment exercises as taught at Pilates International on the Teacher Training course. More details
Pilates is excellent for improving muscle tone,
particularly core stability, thus increasing strength and
flexibility for any kind of physical activity. It is invaluable
for treating and preventing back pain. Most musculo-skeletal
problems and injuries can be helped with Pilates.
Anya can advise you on general fitness, posture, diet, weight loss, how to achieve a flat stomach and how to prevent back-ache.
Now available: Pilates exercise sessions on the PerformerThe Performer is a machine, similar to the reformer, which allows for a full body workout and abdominal strengthening whilst keeping the back in a very stable and safe position.
