THE WALKS
SUNDAY WALKS

Transport for Sunday walks is by private
coach, with a number of pick-up points across the Wirral, and the actual
walks can last for 5-6 hours. Coach bookings are taken on a “rolling 4
week basis – first come, first served”.
The best way to book your Sunday walk is
to come along to our Thursday Club Night. Here you will be able to find
out which walks are available, book one, and if you are new to walking,
have a chat with some of the members who will be only too pleased to
answer any questions you may have.
The cost of a seat on the coach is £10, (£12
for non-members), from 15th July 2007, which is not refundable unless the seat is re-sold by
the Bookings Officer. Please therefore inform the Bookings Officer
immediately if you have to cancel.
A minimum of four different grades of walk
are usually offered each Sunday ranging from “Moderate to Strenuous”.
Also about once a month, at suitable venues, an “Easy” grade walk is
provided, which should give participants time for sightseeing
etc.
Full
details of walk grading system and the programme are available from the
Membership Secretary. (See Contact Us)
WEDNESDAY WALKS

There
are walks each Wednesday throughout the year. Transport is by private
car and if required lifts are arranged at the start on a car share
basis. The meeting place is the Cherry Orchard Pub, Arrowe Park at
9.45am for a 10.00am departure. Walks are usually within an approximate
30 mile radius of Wirral. There is one "Moderate", (see above), grade walk
every Wednesday. Arrival back in the Wirral is usually about 4pm.
On
alternate Wednesdays there is also an "Easy" grade walk, maximum
distance 5 miles, with the walk usually being confined to the Wirral.
SUMMER EVENING WALKS

There is
a programme of evening walks on Tuesdays and Fridays during the summer
months. These are circular walks on the Wirral and start at 7.30pm
usually lasting 1½ to 2 hours. The programme covers the period from
April to the end of August.
A
separate list of these walks is produced and is available at the
clubroom and on the coach.
