SOCIAL PROGRAMME       Latest Newsletter

On Club Night we have a varied social programme with guest speakers and/or other items of interest to members, held on Thursday evenings at the Clubroom, Alton House, 17 Shrewsbury Road, (corner of Alton Road), Oxton, Birkenhead from 7.45pm. An entry charge of £1.50 is made at the Clubroom to meet the cost of room hire, bar staff and guest speaker. Tea and biscuits are provided.

There are also other social events such as behind the scenes visits to places of interest, theatre visits, dinners, barbeques and hot-pot suppers etc, which are arranged from time to time. These events are publicised at the Clubroom and the coach.

GROUP HOLIDAYS

At various times of the year group holidays are organised. These can be from a few days to a week. Accommodation is usually in guesthouses, field study centres, chalets etc. and can include camping in summer. The availability of these holidays is advertised in the clubroom and on the coaches. Bookings are made with the Weekends Officer and a deposit secures a place on a first come first served basis. Transport on these occasions is normally by private car on the basis of shared expenses.

Over the last few years longer holidays, further afield, have been organised by members  with winter breaks in southern Spain and spring breaks in Ireland.
