2 months to go...

Decorating my house has meant the computer has been packed away for a good month so any changes to the website or contacting judges have been put on hold. Finally during half term my husband dug out the computer and on a very rainy Sunday i have been able to contact most of the judges and finally amend the website, and write a to do list. This was necessary as I managed to forget to attend a meeting with a last minute trip to cornwall and had not even looked at my actions for the meeting. A guilt trip and a few phone calls later and we have a band book, most judges confirmed, draft letters to our VIP saved, web hosting details paid for another year, minutes of last meeting read and marketing ideas organised. Meanwhile to rest of the committee have been organising side shows, main shows, schedules and our sixties night next month. There seems to be an analogy of a race car warming up its tyres - plently of weaving and dordleing followed by sudden bursts of speed.

5 months to go...

My first task this year has been to up date the web site to make sure we don't look dead, useless or that technology hasn't quite reached the inner depths of North Yorkshire. Short of throwing the computer out of the window i have enlisted the help of a lovely young gentlemen who works for my husband to explain how Dreamweaver (the programme that helps develope and keep websites upto date) works. He was very patient with me and in between my children swearing, having tantrems, being put on the naughty step and my husband asking me in a anxious voice if we were done yet, we have come through. Here i am now with an updated website and a clearer understanding of website development. And how much did this cost? Three sausages, a pile of garlicy potatoes, some roast veg and a beer. Bargin.! My next task is to start piece together bands, gambleing, marketing and other things that i have forgotten until i look at the minutes of the last meeting again. Thank goodness our monthly meeting ( last Thurs in the month, Black Horse) are held in the pub, this keeps my incentives going!
