We are situated on the B4465 between Pucklechurch and Emersons Green, just outside of Bristol. We are about a mile and a half from Frenchay Hospital, two miles away from the University of the West of England, Frampton Cotterell, Winterbourne, Yate, Chipping Sodbury, Westerleigh.
Directions from the M32:
Leave the M32 at Junction 1 and follow the signs for the Avon Ring Road
towards Kingswood. At Emersons Green carry on along the Avon Ring Road
until you come to the Dramway Roundabout.
Take the slip road on the left signposted B4465 Pucklechurch.
Carry on this road for approximately 1 mile until you get to the top of
the hill and the road levels out - at this point you enter the 40 mile
an hour speed limit (DO NOT TURN RIGHT SIGN POSTED SHORTWOOD HILL - this
is the old road, just carry on until you see on the left hand side of
the road there is a signpost showing Pucklechurch straight on and a
weight restriction for the right turning.
Our driveway is on the right hand side of the road immediately
opposite the signpost. There is a "Fern Cottage B & B" sign outside
of the house.
Directions from the M4:
Leave the motorway at junction 18 and drive south towards Bath on the
A46. At the next roundabout, turn right signposted A420 to Wick and
follow the road through Wick. Do not turn right at the traffic
lights sign posted Pucklechurch and Abson.
Take the right hand turn when you get to a mini double roundabout
opposite a Pub called the Griffin. Follow the road for approximately 2
miles until you get to a junction. (To get your bearings there is a toll
house to the left of the junction).
Take the left turn at this junction. We are the 4th house (a white
cottage on the left hand side). You will see the "Fern Cottage B & B"
sign outside of the house.
Directions
from the M4 to the Lansdown Park and Ride to go Straight to Bath:
To go straight into Bath before arriving at Fern Cottage please follow
the directions below. However, if you are coming straight to Fern
Cottage from the M4 Junction 18, then follow our other directions from
the M4.
Leave the motorway at junction 18 and drive south towards Bath on the A46. At the next roundabout, turn right signposted A420 to Wick.
At the bottom of the hill, there is a sign post left for Lansdown and Bath - turn left here.
At the top of the hill the road levels out.
Bath Racecourse on the right and the Beaufort Hunt pub a little further on the right hand side.
Lansdown Park and Ride is on the right hand side of the road a little further on.
Directions from Lansdown Park and Ride back to Fern Cottage:
Turn left out of the Park and Ride.
Follow the road for A420 to Wick (going down the very steep Lansdown Hill).
When you get to the T junction turn left for A420 Wick.
Go straight through the village of Wick (do not turn off if you see the sign post for Pucklechurch)
Turn right at the double mini roundabout (Griffin Pub is on the right) (be careful here, cars are coming at you from all directions!!)
Carry straight on over the common – the road goes over a small bridge over a stream and is only wide enough for one car at a time.
Follow the road for
approximately 2 miles until you get to a T junction. (To get your
bearings there is a toll house to the left of the junction).
Take the left turn at this junction.
We are the 4th house about 400 yards from the junction (a white cottage on the left hand side). You will see the "Fern Cottage B & B" sign outside of the house. At night we have low voltage lights either side of the driveway.
