The main room stretches from the front to the back of the house. There's a large fireplace on your left as you enter, then you move through the sitting area into a dining area and a newly equipped kitchen area - including a gas oven, fridge and washing machine. The house's original stone sink (évier) remains in the old kitchen - an interesting reminder of how people managed when fresh water was in short supply. Near the window overlooking the river there's a sofa and armchairs so you can relax while chatting to whoever's taking their turn at cooking dinner! A CD / radio cassette player is provided, and there are books and games for you to enjoy. |

The first bedroom is to the right of the living room, through a corridor, and has a double bed and a single bed as well as chests of drawers, a wardrobe and bedside tables. This room has windows on two sides with fabulous views of the river as it meanders out of sight towards Cajarc. |

The second bedroom is to the left of the living room and has a double bed, hanging space, chest of drawers, blanket box and bedside tables. Reach out of the window and you can pick a fig from the tree outside when they're in season! The living room's sofa is a double clic-clac bed, which can also be used if required. We have a folding travel cot for babies, but we don't provide bedding for it as most parents prefer to bring their own. |
Off the corridor between the living room and the first bedroom, there is a shower room with a newly tiled walk in shower and sink. The toilet is in a separate room. (There is no bath).
The house has central heating for early spring and winter time. All the windows have shutters, which we suggest you keep closed during the day in very hot weather. The house will then stay nice and cool.
You can park your car off the road. It's best to reverse into the drive as it's harder to reverse out, or you can park about 30 metres away in a layby on the same side of the road as the house.
The Grange at the end of the terrace is part of the property. It is another future project but is not being used at present.
The terrace has outstanding views of the river and countryside and is an ideal spot for eating outside.
The house is located high above the River Lot and there is no garden to play in, so we don't recommend it to families with small children. However, if you enjoy relaxing on a terrace with a glass of wine watching the light change on the trees and river, then this is the house for you!
