Magnolia House is an Arts and Crafts house retaining many of its original features.  It has a quiet, friendly atmosphere and is set in a large garden which is available for use by our guests.  There is ample private parking and an indoor, secure cycle store.  The house is centrally heated.  The two spacious bedrooms, both the double and the single, have en-suite shower rooms with washbasins and w.c.’s.  Each room is individually decorated and has a colour television, clock radio, hairdryer, ironing facilities and hot drinks tray.

 

We offer a choice of English, Continental and Vegetarian breakfasts which are cooked to order using fresh local produce, including free range bacon, sausage and eggs.  Our homemade jams, marmalades and delicious Island honey are always popular.

 

Newport’s central position makes it an ideal base for you to visit all parts of the Isle of Wight whether by private or public transport.  Carisbrooke Castle is within walking distance of Magnolia House and Osborne House is a short bus ride or ten minute car journey away.  Newport Roman Villa is 100m down the road!

 

The Isle of Wight is renowned for its footpaths and trails and Magnolia House’s location is ideal for those who enjoy country walks.  The Tennyson and Stenbury Trails both begin just a short walk away.  The Cowes to Sandown cycle path is a few minutes’ cycle ride from our door.

 

The historic market town of Newport is five minutes’ walk from Magnolia House, and has many restaurants, café-bars and ancient inns, as well as a good selection of shops and a weekly Farmer’s Market.  A multi-screen cinema and the Isle of Wight museum are both situated in the town.  Medina Leisure Centre and theatre are nearby.  We are open all year.

We are sorry, but we accept only cash or cheque payments – no credit or debit cards. Please let us know your estimated time of arrival so that we can be here to welcome you. On the day of your departure, please vacate your room before 10am. Luggage can be left for collection at a pre-arranged time.

Should it be necessary to cancel your holiday please inform us without delay, and then we will make every effort to re-let the accommodation. However, should this prove impossible, we reserve the right to be reimbursed for any loss involved. In the event of early departure, the full booking rate is still payable.
