The former Coach House now completely renovated provides a modern wing with superb views from the balcony over looking a beautiful walled garden and down the course of the River Tweed to Abbotsford the Home of the famous Scottish author and poet Sir Walter Scott. There is easy access from the gardens to the riverside that has excellent picnic areas. Close by are the towns of Galashiels, Melrose and Selkirk with shops, swimming pools, a cinema and numerous good restaurants. The coast is only 30 miles away and Edinburgh a 50 minute drive. Locally there are the Border Abbeys of Melrose, Dryburgh, Kelso and Jedburgh. For the energetic there are beautiful walks including the Southern Upland Way and the Eildon Hills.
