Chalet (Sleeps 4+) in Clarach Bay, Nr Aberystwyth, Mid Wales

This older style wooden chalet is located in the beautiful Clarach Bay Holiday Village
at Clarach Bay on the Mid Wales coast.

This Park site has its own 'private' beach, and is in a wide valley.
The chalet is on the south side in the lea of magnificent hills.

At Clarach Bay there are 2 grocery shops, a restaurant, and a pub. In the Leisure Centre and on the sites are bars, cafes, swimming pools, laundry facilities, a small bowling alley, and numerous take-aways. There is lots to do in the immediate area, and of course Aberystwyth is close by (walk on the cliff path, quick taxi, drive yourself, or take a comfortable bus ride). Aberystwyth has a large Morrisons and a Somerfield store

This site is definitely a family friendly 'village'.

Entertainment on this and other sites is sometimes chargeable, but always very reasonable. This site does one off and weekly rates, contact the site for details.

Guests must be fully aware that we as the Chalet owner have no control over the park. The park facilities are let on concession, are operated under private management and are open from Easter until the end of the season, though sometimes they may be closed during quieter periods and bad weather.

E&OE (errors & omissions excepted)

As The Holiday Village says ...there can only be one choice!

... Live Bands ... Shows ... Tribute Acts ... Vocalists ... Comedians ... Disco's ... Children's Entertainment ... Nightly Cash & Bingo Competitions ...

Though a family can stay on the estate all week, it is useful for guests to have transport, although there is a regular local bus service to Aberystwyth most of the season. There are many wonderful local places of interest to visit ...

Frequent Questions:
Can we squeeze 6 in ?
NOT REALLY - we have had one of our sons sleep on a settee in his sleeping bag for a few days ... so that makes a maximum 5
Is the site disabled 'friendly' ?
The site is but we're not yet - this chalet has big steps in, and the doors are slim!
Other chalets and caravans are much more accessible than mine - best you contact the site direct, see above.

What if it rains?
What ?, in Wales !!!. There will be a few books and games in the chalet to keep most ages occupied, and the Amenities Centre can cope with the rest.
What about fishing, is there any nearby?
The Sea. It's just a few hundred yards/meteres away. Obviously fishing from the beach in amongst the sun-bathers could prove difficult, but if you move to the left or right, there's some good rocks to fish from.
There is also a river running along one edge of the site, but don't tell the site I told you so !

Are there any nice walks?
This is a ramblers paradise. Work to complete the Ceredigion Coast Path continues to progress, it will form an exciting new link between two National Trails of Wales. Heading northward from Cardigan - the junction with the Pembrokeshire Coast Path - the Ceredigion Coast Path extends to the Dyfi Estuary National Nature Reserve at Ynyslas, a stone's throw from Glyndwr's Way which links Machynlleth with Knighton on the Wales-England border. On its route, the Ceredigion Coast Path crosses Heritage Coastline and National Trust lands, looking out over the UK's first Marine Heritage Coast and the Cardigan Bay candidate Special Area of Conservation.
What is the beach like?
ENCAMS awarded Seaside Awards to fifteen Ceredigion beaches for 2005, including Clarach Bay, which is a sand, shingle, and pebble beach. It was also awarded a Green Coast Award for 2005.
Anything else?
Loads. Check out the www.ceredigion.gov.uk link below. From the site, to the South along the coastal path is the Biggest Electric Furnicular Cliff Railway in Britain, and for steam railway buffs ... Just a few miles away ... Opened in 1902 the Vale of Rheidol Railway offers an unforgettable journey through the spectacular Rheidol Valley by narrow gauge steam train.
