The Alexander Technique is a thought process that helps you change habits. The thinking is applied to your body in simple activities. It is the thinking behind the activity that helps bring about changes in life long habits, not the activity itself. The technique encompasses several pinciples, two of which are: that we are not aware of how we are actually using ourselves and secondly that we habitually attend directly to our goals and not the process of achieving them. As you start applying these principles with a teacher you will become aware of how you are using yourself and be able to make new choices in how you move and interact.
