OUR BRANCH was originally in a caravan based in Bexhill from March 1969 taking 2,000 distress calls a year. The branch moved to our current site, 26 St Andrews Square in Hastings some years later and we currently take over 22,000 calls and answer approximately 555 emails a year.

We are available to anyone who is in emotional distress or despair including thoughts that may lead them to consider taking their own life. We respect everyone's confidentiality and, therefore, it is important that callers know it is a safe place to share their feelings. There can be many reasons for someone to call us, maybe the most common causes for their feelings of despair are: relationship and family problems, unemployment, bereavement, financial worries, health problems, stress and college or peer pressures, to name but a few.
