Epidote, later becoming epidote projects, was set up in 1984 to encompass the publishing work of photojournalist, Barbara Totterdell. Barbara’s photographic work has included wildlife, countryside, effects and sport including the fast action sport of volleyball. She has written for and edited specialist magazines for volleyball and Epidote has handled the publishing/design side of one book and two of the magazines - see 3touchvolleyball.co.uk. Epidote has also been commissioned for design work, largely based on photographic elements, for other organisations.

Recent volleyball projects have included covering the All Nations Volleyball Tournament and the production of 850 mm x 2000 mm (33.5 inch x 78 inch) roll - up banners and A5 leaflets for London Hillingdon Volleyball Club’s promotional work within their local community. The banners double up as teaching aids for development work within schools. All Nations, run by Volleyfirst's Gary Beckford, is now in it fourth year and drew 250 players from the London area from 35 countries and speaking 28 languages. It is both a celebration of volleyball's and London's diversity. Individual players register for the tournament listing their nationality and are placed in teams representing specific countries e.g. France, Italy, UK or featuring Continents e.g. Europe, Asia, Americas, Oceans. Images from the tournament can be seen and purchased for personal portfolio here.

Epidote Project’s website will also provide a window for Barbara’s other photographic work - best described as capturing the beauty of what she sees through the camera lens and not necessarily travelling at 70 - 100 kilometres an hour! 2008 Christmas cards were produced from four of her images for Epidote and offered via the website for others to use and enjoy. The website will be enlarged over time.
