Who am I ?
I am a barrister with over 10 years experience specialising in civil
and commercial law, now offering my services directly to the general public
and business community.
What do I do ?
I provide advice and support to businesses and individuals, mainly in relation
to contract or business disputes. I also provide advice to businesses to stop
themselves getting into a dispute, such as advising on a contract or standard
terms and conditions.
What is new about this service ?
Traditionally, barristers could only be instructed by the client first instructing
a solicitor – who in turn instructed the barrister. Under new rules, some
barristers are now allowed to accept instructions directly from the general
public – allowing the client to more quickly access the specialist advice
and assistance that they need.
What are the benefits of instructing me ?
Firstly, I’m cheaper: barristers enjoy lower overheads than solicitors and
so are generally able to offer their services at a lower rate. I also offer
to vet your case for free to see if it is the sort of case that I can help
you with. Secondly, because I specialise in a narrower field of law than
most solicitors I offer a more specialist service than many solicitors. I
also appear in court on a regular basis and so am “closer to the coal face”
than most.
