Situated in the heart of central Algarve, Duas quintas is ideally located for exploring the whole of the Algarve. A thirty minute drive will take you to Lagos and the west coast and a forty five minute drive brings you to Faro and into eastern Algarve.

The nearest city is Portimao, an easy twelve minute drive away. Portimao is the second largest town and port, a businesslike place geared to everyday Portuguese life. There is a pleasant shopping area and fabulous fish restaurants where the famous Portimao sardines have to be sampled.

For something different, head for Monchique. The lovely spa village of Caldas de Monchique has been popular since Roman times and is well worth a visit. A little further on, Monchique town is a complete contrast to the costal towns and cities. This area is a craft lovers delight –knitware, canework,tites, handmade shoes and honey are among some of the delights for sale. There are many peaceful tracks for walkers in the surrounding countryside and wonderful panoramic views to the coast.
