Our two local restaurants, both between 1.5 and 2.0 kilometers away, provide excellent traditional Portuguese food and friendly service. In Silves, there are enough excellent restaurants to go to a different one every night of the week and still not have covered them all! Try something new - wild boar, roast suckling pig or octopus salad.
I am a vegetarian. Will you be able to cater for my needs at breakfast?
Yes, this is not a problem as we have a variety of foods for guests at breakfast time. However, it would be helpful if you could let us know in advance. In that way we can better cater for you.
My husband is on a special diet. Will you arrange a breakfast for him.?
Yes, but please let us know before you arrive, what his needs are.
We are only coming to the Algarve for a few days and do not want to hire a car? Can you collect us at the airport?

Alternatively, if you wish to begin you holidays with a few days of relaxation, we can pick you up at the airport and arrange for our local car hire company to bring your car to you.
If we wanted to leave the car behind some evenings, are there taxis available locally?
Yes, there is a taxi rank in Silves and we can ring for a taxi for you. The local taxi drivers know Duas Quintas and our guests have found them very helpful. The fare is €6.50 - €7.00 per journey (up to four people)

What is the weather like on the algarve?
With over 3,000 hours of sun a year, the Algarve is famous for its mild climate making it an ideal holiday destination all year round. December to February are the wettest months but the rain tends to fall all in one go rather than a constant drizzle! Even in Winter there is an average of 6 hours of sunshine a day and 12 hours in June, July and August.
What is the best time of the year to visit the Algarve?
It really depends on what you are looking for! Late June, July and August are the hottest months, great for the beach and pool but often too hot if you want to do a lot of walking or cycling. The spring is a glorious time to see the Algarve. There is a wealth of wild flowers and still plenty of sunshine. Winter is, of course, colder and wetter but it make a great contrast to weather in the U.K. and Ireland. On most winter days we take our lunch outside but the evenings and early mornings are cold.
