TELEPHONE CONVERSATIONS - TONBRIDGE HOME
Saturday 17th November 2007
I went into the Tonbridge branch and handed in a copy of the Peterborough chaser
leter
Monday 19th November 2007
Tonbridge Manager telephoned
I was told that I had used the incorrect address, (PO Box 5, PE3 8XP, the address
on the top of received correspondence.)
I was told that as I haad made aspelling error in the Street address, it probably
wasn't delivered..
Also ... I should have used a Customer Serrvices address.
I was told that Tonbridge would forward a copy to the correct address.
I was told that Tonbridge would chase Peterborough on Thursday 22nd November,
(They haven't yet advised me of the result of that 'phone call).
Tuesday 20th November 2007
I went into the Tonbridge branch and spoke to the Manager.
I received the impression that the letter may not have been forwarded between
the Peterborough offices to the Customer Relations department for them to deal
with it.
The incorrect Street address was still considered to be the reason the letter
had not been replied to. I felt this was unlikely, so I contacted a Post Office
expert (see emails) and was advised that the letter
was almostly certainly delivered.
I 'phoned Peterborough Customer Services, asking them for an Email address for
Tonbridge so that I could pass on this information.
I was advised that there wasn't one.
I tried to 'phone Tonbridge at 9.40am, but an answerphone told me that they
were closed for staff training.
I therefore wrote them a letter dated 21st November
(with a copy of the above Post Office emails) which I was able to hand-deliver
the same afternoon.
NOTE - The Manager did mention that as the letter was only copied to Tonbridge,
they didn't feel that I would expect a reply from them. .... . I have some sympathy
for this comment. ... but on the other hand, as I had been told by one of the
staff members that that person had never heard of a complaint being made about
a 'Signature' tour, that some local interest would be shown.
Wednesday 21st November 2007
I received a letter from Tonbridge dated 21st November advising that there was,
indeed an Email address for Tonbridge.
