More Information

The Malmesbury Justice and Peace Group was founded by Sidney Hinkes approximately 10 years ago.  In memory of his death in February 2006, the Group decided to continue his work to promote his vision for a fairer and more peaceful world.

The Group now meets approximately five times a year with three or four talks and an AGM in July.  Meetings are generally held during the third week of the month, on varying days.  The venue tends to vary, so check out Future Meetings for details.

The areas of interest covered by the Group span four broad categories: local issues; environmental issues; global issues; and current affairs.  With the exception of the AGM, all meetings feature a talk related to one of these four areas, by a speaker with some expertise or experience in his or her particular subject.  Following each talk, there is a discussion and speakers are asked to provide practical information and ideas for action.

We ask for a donation of £2 per meeting to cover the cost of the venue and any speaker's expenses.  This sum also includes refreshments.
