Yarcombe Inn -  What is happening?

Parish Council Matters - there are fairly radical plans to review the way in which local government operates (see Parish Council Section of web site) and is expected to see the demise of our District and County Councils.  This is important to us all and will be discussed at the annual Parish Council Meeting in May.

Yarcombe Crime - crime is up again around the Parish and in near by areas.  In particular there have been a spate of garage and shed break - ins with valuable tools and equipment stolen.  This spate appears to be a repeat of the one we had back in the Spring undertaken by  a professional gang who carefully reconnoitre and spy out their targets.  Police advise us to be extra vigilant in all security matters.  The Police indicate there is very little chance of catching these thieves  due to a lack of  clues to go on plus a lack of resources allocated for rural crimes such as these.  If you are not satisfied with the level and priority of policing let the authorities know.

Village Skittles - in the light of the Y Inn closing in July this year's Yarcombe village skittles will be played at the Cotley Inn Wambrook.  We had to make a quick decision in finding an alternative alley or risk having no alley available.
