Since a few people have emailed asking me what I thought of various pieces of equipment I own I decided to put my thoughts (which few few and seldom!) on my web page. These are my personal opinions and a brief opinion at that...

FT920....Very good HF radio, no complaints at all.The DSP is great for cw and digi modes, of which I use the most. This page has more info on the FT920.

Cushcraft MA5B mini beam...2 elements on 10, 15, 20 and a dipole on 17 and 12. Most gain can be found on 10 meters. Is smaller than a Tribander but with all the 'spikes' it does still stand out somewhat. In my case it suited as a tribander would have hung over next doors garden. If I had to do it again would I buy another...Yes I would, at the the end of the day it as a compromise but if I tribander does not fit what can you do...horses for courses as they say.

Tentec 1320...20 meter qrp kit. Took a weekend to build, the only problem encountered was that the rig sometimes went into oscillations. I cured this with the help of the net and found that on L8, L9 and L10 the windings should be spaced as far apart as possible, thus curing the problem. There is some drift on warm up, I leave it on for 10 minutes then send a carrier then things are fine. The manual is great, laying things out very well so even the least experienced person could build it.
