COST: 20 €uro per person (Students ONLY 15 €uro)
This is a Beginners Workshop suitable for those who have never danced Modern Jive before
and would like to rapidly improve their Jiving or those who have already attended one or two Modern Jive
evenings and can't wait to improve! This workshop is designed to show you the basics and give you the confidence to take your dancing
onto the dance-floor. Based upon routines 1 and 2 from our popular beginners DVD 'Accelerate your Progress'.
These beginners workshops can be attended in any order and together they cover the entire beginners sylabus

The aim of the workshop is to teach the technique and styling points of the following basic figures:
Routine #1
Man Break-through
First Move
Aerial Yo-Yo
Lady Spin
Routine #2
Underarm Walk-through
American Spin
Throwaway
First Move Man Turn
The workshop will also cover Linking Moves and the techniques of Leading (for the boys) and Following (for the girls).
After this workshop you will have a repertoire of core beginner's moves. You will be able to freestyle and enjoy full participation at
regular Modern Jive Evenings. Now you could also consider attending either another of our beginners workshops
#2, #3, #4
and #5 or perhaps move onto something a little more challenging with one of our intermediate workshops:
#1 - Dance to Dazzle, #2 - Enhance your Dance,
#3 - Squeeze to Please or #4 - Dancing with Style.
And remember to keep practising.

And don't worry if you don't have a partner, as we ensure that there are equal numbers of boys and girls and that we mix everyone up so that all the boys dance with all the girls (and vice-versa). However, if you do have a partner, and you would like to stay together during the workshop, then that's fine also!
