Pegging - Basics

The basic idea, when pegging in a game of lowball, is not to score any points.  To this end, you should do the following:

• If you have a pair, play one of the pair, as soon as possible.
• Avoid keeping "touching" cards (i.e. 6 & 7, Jack & Queen), play one of them as soon as possible.
• Try not to keep a very low card in your hand, as you may be forced to play it, as the "go" card (costing you 1 point).

From personal experience, few games are won and lost during pegging, as generally, only 1 or 2 points are pegged, while the cards are being played.
