RIVERSEA, the new 'band' project Marc is working on, have just released their first EP.

'The Demo EP' features five tracks: ALL AROUND THE WORLD (demo), LIFT YOUR SOUL (acoustic version), EDEN (acoustic version), THE GREAT DIVIDE (demo) and OUT OF AN ANCIENT WORLD (demo) and is available here Here for just £4

RIVERSEA also features Paul Cusick on guitar (formely of GABRIEL and currently working on his solo album www.paulcusick.co.uk) and Brendan Eyre (keyboard player/songwriter based in Hartlepool www.myspace.com/brendaneyre). RIVERSEA has been a songwriting project Marc and the guys have been working on since the late 2006. A 'full band' album is due in 2009 provisonally entitled 'OUT OF AN ANCIENT WORLD'

I've been working on this new album (on and off) for over a year and I am very proud of it and very happy to now see it released and been sent out into the Big Wide World.
 
I'm having a very special launch night on Wed 14th May at The Basement Bar, City Screen, York. The night will feature myself been joined by ex-GABRIEL members Graham Hodge, Paul Cusick and Alex Cromarty as well as my sister
Janine and Loiuse Dawson for what will hopefully be a very special all acoustic show. we'll be playing tunes from the new album as well as a handful of tracks from THIS IS WHERE WE ARE, SEASONS OF MY LIFE and even one or two old GABRIEL tunes.
 
It should be a very special night. Entry is just £2 on the door and doors open at 8pm.

Message from Marc ............

Hi all
 
I'm pleased to announce my new all acoustic album WOOD & WIRE will be released on Wed 14th May with a special show at THE BASEMENT BAR, CITY SCREEN, YORK.
 
The 2 Disc 24 track album will be available for the first time on the night of the gig for a crisp tenner. Disc One is called WOOD and features 12 all original tracks (including re-workings of GABRIEL's 'YOU DONT EVEN KNOW I'M ALIVE' and 'MOTHERLOVE'). Disc Two is called WIRE and features 12 cover versions of track I perform in my 'live' acoustic set.
 
On the launch night I'll be performing a special acoustic set and will be joined by one or two (or three or four) special guests. Entry is £2 (£1.50 with a flyer available from the venue) and doors will open around 8pm.
 
The double CD will also be available on line from www.myspace.com/marcatkinson68 and www.marcatkinson.co.uk from the 14th May. Pre-orders will be possible from 21st April onwards.
 
Hope you'll be able to join us for the launch night... it should be a very special night.

There's to be a special acoustic singer/songwriter 

showcase night at THE JUNCTION, York on Saturday 

3rd March and MARC will be performing a very rare 

set of all original material.

The other acts set to appear are Holly Tamar, 

Oliver J Brooke and T.W.O. The special night has 

been organised by ACOMB MUSIC and it will be a rare

chance to see Marc performing tunes from THIS IS 

WHERE WE ARE and SEASONS OF MY LIFE. He may 

even throw in an old GABRIEL tune!

December 2005 ...........

........ New Year - New CD

Marc is working on his second solo album with many of the new tracks written Marc will start working in the studio on these tracks in the new year. Marc says "I’m gonna try to experiment a bit more with this one production wise. I’ve been taking some tips from listening to James Blunt / David Gray etc….. I don’t mean chords and stuff, I’m just talking about production ideas and how they present really simple tunes so effectively. I want this to be an album that sounds like it was recorded in the 21st century"
