Introduction
Nicola Prior is an independent PR consultant based in Leeds, West Yorkshire and has run a successful business for 13 years. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and has the rare and prestigious status of Accredited Practitioner of the CIPR. She is an occasional contributor on PR issues to BBC Radio Leeds.
Mostly she works with clients in three sectors: energy, offsite construction and holiday. For these clients her work covers product and promotional PR (business-to-business and business-to-consumer), corporate and community relations (including acquisition and divestment projects) and crisis communications.Nicola works for Siemens UK, Shepherd Group, Holiday Cottages Group, Britannia Parks and for medium sized companies too. In the last year her campaigns for clients include a nationwide programme of open weekends at Britannia’s residential parks, the launch in York of Europe’s largest permanent leisure lodge show “village” and a successful project for BBC Children in Need (three times featured on BBC Look North in November 2007).
The skills Nicola offers,acquired over 20 years, are: media relations, business writing, advertising, market research, marketing communications strategy, management of events and graphic design projects, sales and presentation techniques.
