Gabian Village and The Locality

Gabian is within a 30 minute drive of Pezenas, a lovely old town that has a big market every Saturday. There are lots of good restaurants at reasonable prices. We have details waiting for you at the villa. Beziers, Narbonne,  Canal du Midi, and Montpellier are all within 30 to 60 minutes drive. Within 10 to 30 minutes drive there are many very pretty villages, including Pouzolles, with its fairy tale turreted chateau. The whole area is idyllic with rolling vineyards, and mountains in the background.

The picture shows  the village of Gabian. The street names are in both Occitan and French and the locals speak both.
  

Chateau Cassan, Roujan is just minutes drive away between Gabian and Roujan. The priory, founded in 1080 AD assumed its present name of Castle-abbey of Cassan under the French Revolution.
It is today a classified historical monument.



  

The vegetable market ..... today ...... tomorrow the fish market ..... the next, meat ........ all you need is in the village. Listen out for the "Allo, Allo " from the Town Hall to advise you who is visiting the village.
