The town is surrounded by over 150 km of paths between altitudes of 650 and 2750m which explore the rivers, forests and mountains and there are over 210 km of ski pistes at the ski resorts of
Le Grand Bornand, LaClusaz, Le Croix Fry
Day visits to Annecy, Chamonix and Geneva are very
practical. Maps and guidebooks are available at the chalet and advice
can be given on routes, parking, sight seeing, access to lifts, boat trips,
excursions, local events and places to eat. Thônes has four museums,
there are also Chateaux to visit in Annecy, Menton Saint-Bernard and Montrottier.
