GENERAL |
|
|
|
ALL WALES CONCESSIONARY FARES SCHEME |
|
Persons in possession of
a concessionary pass for use in Wales in respect of the above scheme may
travel free on presentation of their pass. A companion (any age) may travel
free provided the concessionary pass holder is in possession of a "companion
pass". For eligibility and passes please contact your local authority
on 01633 656656 Newport City Council or 01495 355444 for other Gwent
Councils. |

EXACT FARE |
|
Newport Bus
operate exact fare vehicles on all routes. Customers are requested to have
the exact fare ready on boarding as the driver is not allowed to handle cash
or give change. We are sorry if this is less convenient to a few passengers,
but it enables time spent at bus stops to be kept to a minimum and
safeguards the driver. |
|

|
TICKETS |
|
Customers are required
to take a ticket, check that it shows the
correct information and show it to an Inspector
or authorised Officer if requested. Customers are asked to retain their
ticket as proof of purchase whilst on the bus. All prepaid, return, day
ticket and
passes must be shown to the driver on boarding. |
|
|
|
PASSENGER LUGGAGE, PUSHCHAIRS AND PARCELS |
|
Passengers travelling on any vehicle may take
with them personal luggage not exceeding 20kilogrammes and one pushchair or
buggy without charge dependent on availability of space on the vehicle. The
carriage of pushchairs whether upright or folded and/or wheelchairs is at
the drivers discretion. Please respect his/her directions. Accompanied heavy
luggage and parcels are charged for at ordinary passenger rates.
Unaccompanied luggage or parcels are not carried. All luggage, parcels,
shopping trolleys, pushchairs, buggies or wheelchairs are carried at the
owners risk.
Shopping bags fitted with wheels will only be
permitted in vehicles if they are of such design and construction that they
can be conveniently placed in the luggage rack or between seats and without
inconvenience to other passengers. Bags of this nature will not be charged
for.
Drivers are authorised to decline any package
which may be dangerous or likely to cause any hindrance or annoyance to
passengers. At no time must the gangway on the bus be blocked. |

FOOD AND DRINK |
|
Food and drink must not
be consumed on the vehicles. Foods which will leave odours on the vehicle
will not be allowed. |
|
|
|
SMOKING |
|
There is no smoking on
any of our vehicles or premises. Fines are imposable under Public Vehicle Conduct
Regulations and Health Act 2006. |
|
|
|
STANDARD FARES |
|
The Company's standard fare for each journey is Adult
£10 Child £5 unless one of the above offers is purchased. In the event of
failure to pay one of the above offers then the Company reserves the right
to charge the standard fare. |

GENERAL CONDITION |
|
All passengers must be in possession of a valid ticket or pass which must be
presented for inspection when requested. Please ensure that the ticket shows the
correct information bringing any concerns to the driver's attention at the time
of purchase.
