About Us

A Brief introduction to the principles of our Academy:
Within most martial arts systems there is an underlying theme which creates and develops the foundations for it to grow and flourish.

Just as systems or ‘styles’ mimic animals for their individual defence or fighting strategies , it is important to apply the principles and think more like them i.e.

Crane – uses a relaxed evasive approach with deceptive attacks with great mobility, speed and grace.

Tiger – employs ferocity and power to attack an opponent which in turn creates blind panic and fear by utilising thrusting, grabbing and slashing movements.

Leopard – renowned for it’s speed and cunningness prefers to attack only when it suits ensuring the strike is elusive yet pointed and effective.

The above are but just a few animals incorporated into numerous systems which can be applied into hard and soft techniques.

Our training principles focus on attitude, respect and awareness, speed, power, timing and finally being effective in self defence when it really matters, with the risks reduced!

Most of all recognise what your true sense of purpose is for studying martial arts and then apply the principles.
