 DRAMA CLASSES

PLEASE NOTE - Dramatic pieces must be from a named play or adaptation from a prose piece. Monologues are not acceptable. Table, chairs and hand properties only. Hats, scarves, shawls, aprons etc. are classed as costume and should not be worn. Competitors may be disqualified if this rule is broken. Performances from Shakespeare are not permitted.

Class 22 - Duologue 12 years and under - Own choice (3 - 4 mins.)

Class 23 - Duologue 13/14 years - Own choice (3 - 4 mins)

Class 24 - Duologue Open Age - Own choice (3 - 4 mins)

Class 24a - Trio 12 years and under - Own choice (3 - 4 mins)

Class 24b - Trio 13 years and over - Own choice (3 - 4 mins)

THESE TIME LIMITS MUST BE OBSERVED OR THE ADJUDICATOR’S BELL MAY TERMINATE

PRESENTATION  (TITLE AND INTRO NOT INCLUDED). COMPETITORS MAY ENTER ONE DUO CLASS ONLY.

Class 25 - Solo Drama 8 years and under - Own choice (max. 2 & half mins.)

Class 26 - Solo Drama 9/10 years - Own choice (max. 2 & half mins.)

Class 27 - Solo Drama 11/12 years - Own choice (max. 3 & half mins.)

Class 28 - Solo Drama 13/14 years - Own choice (max. 3 & half mins.)

Class 29 - Solo Drama 15/16 years - Own choice (max. 4 mins.)

Class 30 - Solo Drama 17 years and over - Own choice (max. 4 mins.)

Class 51 - Group Drama - Open Age - Own choice (max. 15 mins.)

Costume may be worn for group drama only

 DRAMA IN COSTUME CLASSES

Competitors MUST wear a costume, make-up and appropriate accessories. Excerpts from any other drama classes during the Festival are not permitted.

Class 31 - 12 years and under - Own choice (3 - 4 mins)

Class 32 - 13/15 years - Own choice (3 - 4 mins)

Class 33 - 16 years and over - Own choice (3 - 4 mins)

 SHAKESPEARE CLASSES

Class 34 - 12/14 years - Own choice (3 - 4 mins)

Class 35 - 15/17 years - Own choice (3 - 4 mins)

Class 37 - Duologue - Open Age - Own choice (3 - 4 mins)

 PROSE READING CLASSES

PROSE MUST BE READ FROM THE APPROPRIATE BOOK AND NOT MEMORISED.

The maximum number of words must be strictly observed.
