CLASSIFICATION

Classes A and B - 1.30 minutes    Classes C, D, E and F - 2 minutes

Lyrical Solos

Classes under 12 years - 1.30 minutes    Classes 12 years and over - 2 minutes

Greek Solos

Classes under 12 years - 1.30 minutes    Classes 12 years and over - 2 minutes

Duets - Cabaret without song and Classical

Classes Junior, Inter and Senior - 2.30 minutes

Duets - Cabaret with song

Classes Junior, Inter and Senior - 3 minutes

Trios - Classical

Junior - 1.30 minutes (2 minutes with song)      Inter - 2 minutes (2.30 minutes with song)      Senior - 2 minutes (2.30 minutes with song)

NB: Definition of a Novice

A novice is a competitor who has not won a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in this particular class (ie Modern) at the date of entry.

Please note change to Novice section (ie. all six solo dances in novice sections) 

 

I.D.T.A. CHAMPIONSHIPS

 

North Eastern Junior tap and modern

Entry fee - £5.00      Ages 10, 11, 12 and 13 years  -  time 2 minutes

Area of qualification Northumberland, Durham, Cleveland, Yorkshire, Humberside, Tyne & Wear

Miss Dance of Great Britain

Entry fee - £5.00

This is a National competition in theatre dance. The grand final is provisionally arranged to be held in 2006.

Venue  -  Opera House, Blackpool

Rules for Miss Dance

1. Competitors must be 16 years of age by 31st May 2006

2. Competitors will be required to give a completed theatrical dance performance which may include Modern Dance, Tap, Gymnastic Dance, Dialogue, Song, Instrumentation or Comedy (Classical Ballet, Character, Greek, National are not permitted). Professional presentation will be taken into consideration.

3. Non-vocal or vocal tapes of a good quality may be used but 'vocal' may not be used to enhance the natural voice. Standing miming to the song is not allowed and the dance must be relevant to the vocal. For the 2006 heats and grand final hand held microphones are permitted. These will only be provided by the I.D.T.A. in the final and grand final.

4. Maximum time limit of 3 minutes. A ten second play off will be allowed only in the grand final.

5. The same dance and musical arrangement must be used throughout the heats and final. Any alteration will result in disqualification, the title of the dance must be given to the heat organiser on entry to the competition.
