Frisby on the Wreake is a small village on the Upper Wreake Valley off the main A607 road four miles west of  Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire.

It has around 600 inhabitants and consists of 240 homes, a Primary School, a Church of England Church, a Methodist Chapel, Village Hall, a Village Shop and Post Office and a Public House called The Bell.

It is an attractive and pleasant village, parts dating back to mediaeval  times. It still retains many of the best attributes of English village life. The community is thriving despite its small size, sustaining a range of  activities and social groups surprising in its diversity and number.

This Web page has been created to give both Frisby residents and visitors to the village an idea of what is on offer in the way of events, activities and facilities.

If you visit this site and would like to know have more details on any  subject or have any questions relating to the village or its inhabitants, please contact us by e-mail . We will try to answer your queries or put you in touch with someone who can.

The Old School House - Watercolour by Tim Fisher

Frisby Old School Group

is currently fundraising to save the Old School Building.  Their aim is to purchase it and maintain it as a community and educational facility for the Upper Wreake Parish.  They need to raise £30,000 over 5 years to purchase the building itself and then be able to maintain it.

They are ahead of schedule having managed to raise so far nearly £20,000. But they still need to do a lot of fund raising to reach their target, and to then manage to refusrbish the school house which is need of restoration.

If you wish to help them in their endeavours, you may be interested in purchasing a print of Tim Fisher's watercolour painting of the Old School House. Cost £30.
