Courses
All
of our courses are designed to give an insight into
professional dog grooming which can be used
for a profession
or to groom your own dogs. The training specialises
in practical grooming in a working salon -
a "hands
on" approach to grooming.
The
courses are individually designed for every student
with careful planning and guidance from the
tutor.
The
courses are all day sessions and lunch will be provided
(let us know in advance
of special dietary
requirement).

Taster
Days
1 Day Course - £80
Ideal
for those who have never groomed pets or worked with animals
before, the
1 day
course allows a good
insight into grooming. You will see
the dogs arrive, the grooming
process and how we look after them
until they go home. Throughout the day you
will get some hands
on experience
bathing and drying dogs and learn all
about ear and nail care.

Grooming
Assistant/ Introduction Course
4 Days - £80 per day
Ideal for those keen to learn the basics
of dog grooming either to keep their
own pets tidy or perhaps to
become a grooming assistant. It also
may be useful for those
who are looking to offer the various
grooming, bathing, ear and nail care
services as
an addition to other
services they may currently offer
- at a boarding kennel for example.
The
course covers grooming prep work for all coat types. It
will also
cover clipping,
scissoring and
thinning
out of the coat for those non-clipped
breeds (such as Collies/Retrievers).

of the course
you will
be able to trim and groom these
breeds fully.

Grooming Basic Technique Course
8 Days -£80 per day
Suitable for complete beginners
or those with little experience.
The
course gives
the basic grooming and
ear and nail care for all coat
types. It will also teach
thinning out of non-clipped breeds
and scissoring of feet and feathers.
After
learning to prep
the dog you
will learn hygiene clipping and
rough clipping prior to bathing
- suitable
for matted
dogs or dogs with
short clipped hair.
You will then learn to style
the most common breeds’ inclusing
scissoring and trimming to style.
The course will mainly cover
Spaniels, Terriers and Schnauzers.

Intensive Business Start Up Course
16 Days-£80 per day
The course covers the same as the 8 day course but in more
depth. We also cover a wider range of breeds including dense
coated non-trimmed breeds and short, trimming puppies, drop
coated breeds (e.g. shihtzus) and trimming long legged terriers.

Start
Up Course
24 Days-£80 per day
Same as the 16 day course only you will learn to
perfect styling techniques and speed. You will also look at
the styling of poodles and bichons which require the more
experience gained on this course. Designed for those wishing
to perfect their grooming skills and speed before starting
their own business. Groomers completing this course should
be able to groom up to 4 dogs a day to a high standard. You
will also have the opportunity to work as one of our team
in your later weeks of training.
